Highlights from the TechSmart Learning Fund Launch

Yesterday, we proudly launched the TechSmart Learning Fund, a bold new initiative to build a future-ready workforce in Arizona and beyond. TechSmart is designed to connect learners, especially those furthest from opportunities, to high-wage, high-growth careers in semiconductors, biotech, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and other emerging industries. By aligning education, industry, philanthropy, and government, we are creating a learner-centered talent pipeline that can serve as a model for the nation.

To mark this milestone, leaders from across the country gathered in Phoenix to celebrate Arizona’s once-in-a-generation opportunity and to help shape TechSmart’s vision. Hosted by  Helios Education Foundation and Pharos Foundation, the launch included collaboration at the ASU Helios Decision Center for Educational Excellence, a site visit to TSMC Arizona and Western Maricopa Education Center, and an exploration of the SEMIquest exhibit at the Arizona Science Center. We were also joined by leadership from Maricopa Community Colleges, highlighting the critical role of higher education partners in advancing this work and showcasing the talent, partnerships, and innovation driving it forward.

The launch of TechSmart is just the beginning. Together, we are positioning Arizona as a national leader in high-tech talent development and laying the foundation to expand this vision across the country. This milestone reflects a true collective effort, and we’re grateful to our partners for making it possible.
